The Magdalene Model for Finding True Love: H.I.M.

We have a rare opportunity for those of us who have been called to take the

concepts and ideas of enlightenment that Mary Magdalene discloses in her gospel, The Gospel of Mary Magdalene, and live into them.  She is considered one of the great demonstrations of embodied love.

How did she do this?

Why is she so powerful?

She found Heaven in H.I.M., and so can you.

My Story

I share in my chapter, Peek Behind the Veil, that my journey with Mary Magdalene and the yearly celebrations brought me closer to her spirit and her message. The Gospel of Mary was a continual source of inspiration as I deepened my study. Eventually I began to teach her Gospel.

However, one verse in the text persistently nagged at my thoughts. The passage, in the LeLoup version was, "For it is within you that the Son of Man dwells. Go to him, for those who seek him, find him."

This exclusive use of "him" left me with an unsettling question and a sense that something was missing.

***

“What?” I cried out to my God. “Seek Him? Why? What about seeking Her?” It never made sense to me that we have to seek only Him. What about Buddha, Krishna, and other great avatars? Please help me with this,” I asked as I dropped into a meditation one morning. I was to teach this passage that night. “Is there another way to look at this?”

I let go into a sweet, uplifting meditation. I forgot I asked the question as I sat, enjoying the stillness. Then I heard, “You tell them it is H.I.M.!”

                                                        “H-period,

                                                          I-period,

                                                          M-period?”

I asked, “What does that mean?”

“H is for Heaven,

  I is for In, and

 M is for Me.

H.I.M. is Heaven In Me.

“YES!” I exclaimed with great joy. Of course, that makes perfect sense. If I seek the experience of “Heaven In Me” and find it, I will know the Kingdom of God. Jesus has explained that the Kingdom of God is within. For what is God but Love?

The concept of "Heaven In Me" (HIM) suggests that the divine, or a state of profound love and peace, resides within each person. Seeking HIM is followed by a clear directive to “Walk Forth” as that embodied state of love, expressing and sharing love. That way, we experience Heaven on Earth.  This “gnosis” of knowing who we are at the deepest level of our being is something that was hidden from us. Women in particular have been encouraged to be distracted from seeking this internal HIM(the power of love within) by being told to seek HIM and to find HIM outside of ourselves.

Just the other day my 5 year old granddaughter was telling me about when she grows and gets married, like that is the most significant thing about her growing up.

At a young age, we are told that if we want “True Love”

we need to find our Prince. Until we do so, we are half not whole. For it is only when we find our Prince and receive true love’s kiss, can we awaken to the experience of true love.

Nothing could be further from the truth…for the very essence of who you are is love itself. The secret of where “True Love” is, has been hidden from us. By unveiling the truth about who Magdalene is, we are given not only the clues of where “True Love” is, but the blueprint for awakening this love within ourselves, by observing what she did according to her Gospel.

I have attempted to document what some of these steps might be.  This is an exploration.  Nothing that my mother taught me from her years of exploring this for herself.  Please join me in this exploration...

She is one of the most powerful examples of a living demonstration of embodied love, we have on this planet.

How she achieved this

embodied love, is illuminated in

her story of the soul’s journey in

the Gospel of Mary Magdalene.

Her power came from the fact

that she did not need to

“get love” from her beloved

Yeshua. She only needed to

share it, from her awakened

state. She had done the work

to seek to know and experience

the love within her herself. Having found that love…that deep sense of harmony and peace, she shared it, from a pure state of knowing H.I.M. (Oneness).

The “Happy Ever After” part is in the Gospel of Philip where she does get “True Love's Kiss” from him.

The only difference is she is already awake when she receives her kiss.

The gift for you, provided here, is to seek to know for yourself by following the steps Magdalene took to enter this knowing as best described from the Gospel of Mary.

Even though her gospel was discovered in 1896, it wasn’t until the late nineties that the English translations became available with scholarly commentaries that we had the opportunity to put the puzzle pieces together to understand and unveil, if you will, what she did to become so powerful.

Now, finally we have you in the 21st Century

willing to explore for the first time,

with all of us on this path of Love, what

she actually did. We understand now

that she walked the planet as the

embodied presence of the Holy Sophia…

the embodied presence of H.I.M..

She lived as a fully awakened being in

an anthropos state of wholeness.

Her gospel, the Gospel of Mary Magdalene gives us clues as to how she became such an enlightened fully awake person. Her gospel was banned for a number of reasons.

Now we can gleam from it how she was restored as an equal with the other disciples, by Jesus.

Do you think the patriarchy was interested in women becoming entrained to be powerful loving, compassionate leaders?

Perhaps, that is one reason why the manuscripts were banned. They even cut out the word explaining where she got her kiss on the…mouth, is presumed by the scholars.

Thank the Goddess the texts

were buried to be discovered at

a later time.

Interesting note: One of the

areas, where her gospel was

discovered in Akhmim, Egypt,

an area that was known for a

high concentration of Goddess

worship. It has the tallest statue

to a Goddess, the daughter of

Ramses II, in all of Egypt.

This gift of her modeling is new to all of us. You are among the first to apply the Magdalene model of Love. Because for thousands of years the written text was suppressed so these steps were not known. We lack the shared experience of thousands of women who have attempted to practice modeling the leadership behavior of Magdalene. Experienced mothers, sovereign in the ways of the sacred Holy Priestess were not training their daughters.

We would have evolved with this knowledge raising sons more in balance from watching their mothers holding a sovereign state of consciousness and the fathers mirroring respect, instead we are still dealing with the suppression of women.

If you choose to apply the steps outlined, please let me know your experience. If you have a desire to know more, I offer courses through my website on the Gospel of Mary, where I have time to go deeper.

If you sign up to receive my monthly newsletter you will be informed about the next class and my children's books that will be coming out.

It has been a life changing event for me to follow in her footsteps.

The steps are simple. It is the depth of your devotion and heartfelt passion to know in the way of the term “gnosis”. According to Wikipedia “Gnosis” is a feminine Greek noun which means “awareness” or “knowledge”. This awareness references an inner knowing, stemming from a more personal, feminine experience, integrated with the wisdom of Sophia, rather than the knowledge of facts stored in the head —an intellectual, masculine type of knowing. Men acquire “Gnosis” by opening to their inner knowing. Integrating this into daily life involves shifting your awareness and actions to reflect your inner divinity.

Here’s how:

Following Her Steps to H.I.M.

Because this information was suppressed, we are all just now learning and exploring her steps.

INTENTIONAL BREATH BY PRIESTESS.jpg
Beautiful Temple Priestess be still in silence with smaller hands in prayer.jpg
Magdalene Temple Priestess in state of joy.jpg

STEP 1.  Intentional Breath

Step 2.  Enter into the Silence.

Step 3. Feel Love.

At your daily meditation, take a deep breath in through the nose and out through the mouth. Go within as you let go with a sigh. The out breath needs to be a little longer than the in breath.  Continue with intentional breathing until you can relax your body. Soften and slow down the breath.  Gently move into a relaxed fluid state of mind.  Enjoy.

The Gospel of Mary explains that Mary enters the silence to receive the teachings of the master.  Mystical scholars believe this energy of silence is considered to be feminine energy called the Goddess Silence (google her) because this Goddess energy helps us receive information as we go within to a deeper place, beyond the veil.

Step 4. Seek to inform yourself about how Magdalene modeled this sacred love.

Step 5. Take action steps that help.

In the famous Martha and Mary story (Luke 10:39-42) we learn that instead of helping out in the kitchen to take care of feeding the men, Mary, according to Jesus, was doing the right thing by sitting and listening to him. She listened with the intention to understand his teachings that “the Father (HIM) within does the work.”

Being in nature helps. Listening to beautiful meditative music designed to open the heart helps.

Being of service helps. Taking care of yourself can help, but sometimes our pain pushes us to know.

Ultimately, doing the inner work is critical.

Stay in the question...

What would you have me know?

Allow any feelings of passion and longing for love to arise. Use memories of when you felt love or passion to help you access the inspiration of these happy times and feel the feelings.

Can't remember a time? Then feel into the longing and desirer for love.

Being fluid is important to feelings. If you are shut down, rigid and uptight…how would that work for you?

Be open-minded and see what happens. It is not the amount of time you take in meditation, but the amount of devotion and passion you bring to that moment of the meditation that counts. A moment of meditating on the beauty of a flower can be enough. Awakening can happen in an instant. This is also a customized journey. Spirit knows exactly what you need to awaken. It is super helpful, then to be still and listen…to see where you are guided.

Ask questions, like A Course In Miracle suggests:

What would you have me know?

Where would you have me go?

What would you have me say and to whom?

Suggestions:
Here are some suggestions for action steps to use, if they are a fit for you. See which one jumps out at you.

1. Daily Affirmations and Reminders:

  • Begin each day with affirmations: "I am a vessel of divine love," or "Heaven resides within me."

  • Set reminders on your phone or place notes around your home with "HIM" or "Heaven In Me" to jog your memory throughout the day. We all forget we are Divine.

2. Gratitude Practice:

  • Cultivate a daily gratitude practice. Each evening, write down three things you are grateful for. This helps shift your focus from what’s lacking to the abundance in your life and connects you to the source of all goodness within.

  • Express gratitude to others. Thank people for their kindness, support, and presence in your life.

3. Creative Expression:

  • Engage in activities that bring you joy and allow you to express your inner light. This could be painting, writing, dancing, playing music, or anything that feels creatively fulfilling.

  • Use your creativity to express love and positivity. Create art, write a song, or share a story that inspires others.

4. Conscious Communication:

  • Speak with kindness and compassion. Choose your words wisely, and avoid gossip or harsh criticism.

  • Listen actively to others with an open heart and mind. Seek to understand their perspective and offer support and empathy.

5. Connect with Source:

  • Spend time connecting with Source. This is different for everyone. Prayer, meditation, chanting, women circles, ecstatic dance, being in nature, sitting by the rivers edge. Observe the beauty around you and feel the interconnectedness of all living things.

  • Nature can model for us. A tall tree standing in stillness can teach stillness. Stand before it and contemplate how the tree is willing to just be still.  It resists nothing, bending when the wind blows, and eventually falling down, laying still slowly feeding the soil with decaying matter.

6. Living with Intention:

  • Approach each day with the intention of embodying "Heaven In Me." Make conscious choices that align with your values and contribute to the greater good.

  • Practice seeing with eyes of love that this “greater good” is in everyone you encounter.

By consistently practicing these techniques, you can integrate the concept of "Heaven In Me" into your daily life and cultivate a state of love, consciousness, and inner peace.

7. Acts of Kindness and Service:

  • Express "H.I.M." by performing small acts of kindness. Offer a genuine compliment, help a neighbor, or donate to a cause you believe in.

  • Volunteer your time or resources to help others. Service is a powerful way to connect with the divine within yourself and others.

8. Reflection and Journaling:

  • Take time to reflect on your day and how you expressed "HIM." Journaling can help you process your experiences, identify areas for growth, and deepen your connection to your inner divinity.

  • Ask yourself questions like, "How did I share love today?" or "How can I better embody 'Heaven In Me' tomorrow?"  Reflecting on your thoughts and behaviors throughout the day is the benchmark of someone willing to move into higher states of consciousness.

Finally don’t forget Self-Care and Self-Love, it is the sign that you are integrating the Magdalene principles and ascending into wholeness.

9. Self-Care and Self-Love:

  • Treat your body as a temple by getting enough rest, participate in joyous movement, and when hungry, eat nutritious foods. Don’t be dogmatic about it.  Allow for sweetness in your food and fun in your physical activities.  Magdalene, in her Gospel, speaks of cravings that she frees herself from by recognizing…I am not that. The craving is just a thought. It’s does rule over you. It’s the love and joy that matters. The choice is yours.

  • Practice self-compassion. When you make a mistake, don’t beat yourself up. According to her Gospel, there is no sin, only the corrupt thoughts that we choose. Forgive yourself and choose once again.  Talk to yourself with the same kindness and understanding you would offer a dear friend.
